When I moved to a new place, one of the first things I did was call the HVAC company to check out my heating system.
- The guy was telling me that the HVAC system was kind of old and I should consider an upgrade.
He said with such an old oil furnace, I would have expensive heating bills and there was nothing more important than having an effective heating system in the winter around these parts. He said I should consider going for a dual-fuel system. The one he had in mind was a combination gas furnace and ductless mini split. The ductless mini split would provide plenty of cooling in the summer and was extremely energy efficient. When the temperatures started to drop in the fall season, I would be able to use the heating from the ductless mini split down to approximately 40 degrees. When it became cooler than that, the gas furnace would take over and this was the most energy efficient way to keep my home perfectly comfortable. I thought it sounded amazing and so I went for the upgrade. It did cost me a little bit of money but since I wanted to be comfortable in my home, I thought it was a good choice to make. I have now been here for a few years using this system and I really love it. I now even have a girlfriend living with me and she always is telling me how it’s the best climate control system she has ever had the pleasure of using in all her years.
