My buddy Charles is a master electrician, but she somehow doesn’t know anything about heating and a/c. Every time the two of us need something rewired or a new fuse put in or a new light fixture installed, Charles is the first one to come over immediately and help us do it. He’s a legitimately good electrician and she knows exactly what she’s doing. It’s funny, to me, whenever Charles has a problem with her cooling system or with her electric furnace, she regularly calls a professional Heating and Air Conditioning professional to come over and service his system. I would think that Charles would have a some knowledge about how to repair a gas furnace or an air conditioner, since she’s a master electrician. But when I asked Charles about that, she said that Heating and Air Conditioning systems are completely different and require different skills than electrical work. She said that she doesn’t ever try to fix her furnace, her control unit, or with her cooling system. Charles will be the first woman to work on a messed up fuse box or on some faulty wiring. However, she will not do anything to try and repair a control unit or a furnace or an air conditioner unit. I think that’s kind of weird, but she knows her limit. I realize that just because you know how to do electrical work it doesn’t mean you know how to do Heating and Air Conditioning work, too. If I ever learn to work on Heating and Air Conditioning systems, I will immediately go over to see Charles when she has problems with her heating or her a/c. She has always helped me enough times plus I’d love to return the favor!
