I am so tired of hearing people complain about the winter around here. I’m currently living in the south, and everyone is so butt hurt about getting an inch of snow last winter that they still cannot shut up about the insane snowfall they endured. Yes, this would be ridiculous to any audience, but considering that I originate from the far north, it’s especially crazy to hear all of this commiseration. Not only are winters here incredibly mild – I think they’re even quite comfortable – but they end very quickly and bring hardly any weather events along with them. I personally think that the winter season in these parts is the most enjoyable part of living here. This brings me to my next point; the summers here are god awful. I don’t know how on earth people have the gall to bitch and complain about the “brutal” winters when the air temperature outside has been over 90 degrees for the past two months. The humidity has not dipped below 85% in just as long. From the moment you wake up in the morning until the time you go to bed, you are drenched in sweat and struggling to breathe in the heavy and moist air. It’s impossible to enjoy a single outdoor activity unless you have a lot of shade and adequate cooling breezes, not to mention an ice cold drink in your hand. I simply can’t understand how these humans draw their threshold levels of temperature discomfort, because I certainly have been feeling overheated and miserable for 4 months already.
