My brother Izzy is a hippie at heart plus in spirit; Izzy loves to take off work and frequently goes backpacking all over the world, however he goes from couch to couch simply trying to get by, plus takes truly low key jobs. I realize that basically all our brother wants to do is see the world, taste new foods, experience new things plus play his guitar. He has quite the extensive custom guitar collection since it is his passion… The concern that he has is that with a hippie lifestyle, he can’t take all of his guitars on the road with him. So I got stuck storing all of those damn guitars. They are truly pretty, but they take so much of my room that they have their own room. My brother then told me that I had to monitor the exact indoor air quality for the guitars… At first I honestly thought our brother was full of it, but then I did some research and foudn out the truth. Too dry or moist of air quality can seriously affect a nice guitar due to the wood. The extremely dry air quality would cause the wood to split plus crack over time. Too much moisture in the indoor air quality would simply cause the wood to swell plus warp. The guitars would be totally ruined in a matter of weeks if I did not have both a dehumidifier plus humidifier. The dehumidifier is tied up with our AC in the Summer plus the humidifier pairs with the oil furnace easily in the Winter. That is right, the guitars get quality Heating, Ventilation & A/C per each particular season too. I have to care diligently for the guitars plus because of the amplifiers too. They would get ruined with an amount of excessive static plus bad temperature control. I don’t mind carefully storing the guitars, but investing that much money in them is totally annoying.
