I’m not that worried

Tonight was the first night of the year when the weather has dropped low enough to require a jacket at night. It’s the perfect weather for a late summer or early fall fire, and it’s a signal that winter will soon be on its way. I always remember when I’m out buying chocolate and graham crackers for smores that it’s time to call my HVAC supplier for my biannual heating and air conditioning tune-up. The longer I wait to get it worked on, the harder it is to get someone out on a time that works for me. Autumn is notoriously short in the area of the country I live in–we’ve even had blizzards on Halloween multiple years in a row–so I always feel that it’s important to get the HVAC maintenance performed as soon as possible. My local heating and air conditioning supplier checks the ductwork to make sure everything is still sealed up tight and cleans it out to ensure dust hasn’t accumulated during the summer months. He checks over the components and various parts to make sure everything is in good shape. I really like my HVAC contractor, because he lets me know when something is in rough shape, what duty it performs, and what can happen to the HVAC system if we go without fixing it. He never oversells me on things, he’s just very direct and informative. Thanks to my regular oil furnace maintenance check-ups, I never have to worry about having problems with the oil heater when I need it most.
