We can’t stand the heat

I can’t even say when was the last time my wife and I used our air conditioning system. If I had to guess, I would say two years ago when my mother came into town and stayed with us at our house. We turned the A/C on for her in the house because she can’t stand the heat. My wife and I, however, love the warm weather. We tend to handle it well. Translation: we don’t feel the need to turn the A/C system on much. It is enough just to have the windows open. We get a great breeze where our house is located, and all the windows in the house are nice and big to let it inside. Most of our neighbors think we’re crazy. They’re always holed up in their houses with the air conditioning blasting. I would bet their utility bills are way scarier than ours, though. I wouldn’t want to pay to run the A/C for no reason. That just seems silly. If my wife and I are comfortable, then why turn it on at all? At least, that’s our thought process. I don’t personally see what the big deal is. Not everyone experiences heat the same way. My mother is a perfect example. She can’t stand the heat, we had the A/C on for her, but as soon as she left we turned it off. I am perfectly fine with heat. So it must be an individual preference. We have kind of become the weird house on the block now, though. All the neighbors have to talk about, I guess, is how my wife and I don’t like the A/C. Scandalous stuff happening right there…
