The two of us have been having a lot of problems over the past year with our Heating & Air Conditioning system. Our current a single consists of a boiler, baseboard heating, plus a dehumidifier that is hooked up in the basement. It is a pretty straight forward way to heat our home throughout the Wintertide plus attempt to keep our old stone basement dry. Yes, I said, stone basement. Our home was built in the early 1900’s as a boarding home for migrant farm hands. There was not a lot of thought put into a finished basement at that time. Previous owners added the basement which was dug by hand plus only deep enough for the owner at that time to rest up in it. The ceilings are certainly low plus every one of us only use the space to home the boiler, hot water tank, plus a few other items as it is regularly damp. The two of us had a specialist from the local Heating & Air Conditioning corporation come out to see what could be done to make our boiler job better. He, sadly, told us that the moisture in the basement had taken a toll on the component plus every one of us would need to replace it. My partner had been waiting for this day to come! I say this because he has regularly had dreams of having a forced air plan that would include A/C. His hopes were dashed suddenly when the specialist explained that every one of us did not have any ductwork in place plus it would be, not only luxurious to install it, but, nearly impossible due to the construction of the house. Walls would have to be opened up plus dealers hired to do the repair work… The two of us ended up just buying a new boiler instead.
