Sometimes, I have to travel for work. I always get to choose my accommodations, especially if I am spending more than one night away from home. Last January, my company sent me out of state to help one of our sister companies with a marketing campaign. I was in town for 3 weeks During that time, I stayed in a local hotel. The hotel was located on the river, and I had a beautiful view of the sunset. Unfortunately, there was a lot of cold air from the river. I kept the heater running all day, so the hotel room was comfortable when I arrived in the evening. A few days into my trip, the heater started making the most abrupt sounds. It sounded like the heater was going to fall off the wall. It was loud, and the heater was rumbling. I contacted the front desk, and told them the heater was falling apart. They laughed out loud, and offered to send a maintenance worker to my room. When the maintenance worker heard the heater, he was surprised. He turned off the heater and took off the front plate. Inside of the heater, the maintenance worker found a small plastic spoon. The plastic spoon was lodged inside of the machine, and it was making the strange sounds that I heard. Once the plastic spoon was removed, the heater no longer made any frightening noises. That was the only problem I encountered, during my entire 3 week stay. The people were friendly and the office staff was happy for my marketing help and expertise.
