I have been a small business owner my whole life and understand the price of doing business. If you want to make money you have to spend money, or so the old saying goes. I run a small restaurant that is considered to be high-end. At least that is what I strive for every single day. I try to provide not only the best dining experience possible for my customers but also a professional work environment where every employee is dealt with capably. Over the years I have found that there are certain things that some people might take for granted that people will actually judge a restaurant harsher over than commonly thought things. For instance, someone might think that the quality of the food is what is of most importance in a restaurant but I would disagree. To my mind, the most important thing for the overall customer experience is the atmosphere. Of course, the food can’t be complete garbage but it also doesn’t have to be the most expensive or of the highest quality. However, if your decor is ridiculous or if the HVAC is not working right then people will be much more apt to not come back. Moreover, they will actually notice something is off if, for instance, the furnace is stuck on and it is too hot in there or if the air filter hasn’t been changed and the air quality is low. When people are paying money for a meal in a restaurant they are not just paying for the food. They are also paying for the atmosphere and that includes a working HVAC system.
