There’s quite a few coils in here

My company phone has been ringing a lot this week.  Ever since the forecast informed us of cold weather coming our way very soon.  The cold week ahead of us means that people will be calling to get their furnace tune-up.  They certainly should be calling my HVAC company, or any HVAC company. However, I’m certainly glad they are calling mine.  Residents in our area are preparing to turn their heat on for the first time of the season, and they need to have their furnace tune-up prior to using it.  A non-functioning furnace can be quite dangerous if the owner tries to use it in a state of disrepair.  That’s why, I will say that the furnace owner needs to call an HVAC company for a professional tune-up. Although I’m glad they are calling me, just make sure a reputable HVAC company is called to perform the tune-up, period.  As soon as we get that first frost, everyone gets a little nervous, as they should be. Nervous about whether their furnace will work or not, and whether it will perform its job safely. That’s why a professional tune-up is needed before the furnace is turned on.  There should be no concerns about the health of your furnace when you go to flip on that heat.   Leave it to the professional HVAC companies to ensure a safe and warm winter is had by all. It gets way too cold around here for guesswork.  My HVAC technicians have been out checking furnaces all around this area, and there is no end in sight.
