During my nights as a detective on the local sheriff’s office, there were times the people I was with and I would be on stakeout for extended periods of time. Watching a subject for nights on end sometimes grew fatigued, however in the end it usually paid off. Sometimes there is a dangerous suspect that gets apprehended & taken off the streets, & sometimes it’s just for the protection of an innocent woman. In fact, 1 of my first assignments as a detective was to secure our safe home & get it fixed up for when the people I was with and I had to use it. One of the things it needed was some cooling system work. It had been sitting for quite some time & the HVAC plan wouldn’t turn on. I was limited on who I could call to service it, as there was a short list of department approved companies that could service our safe house. This was to ensure the location wasn’t compromised. It took a few nights to get a supplier out, however the people I was with and I finally got the HVAC plan running. It absolutely worked pretty well for being that seasoned of a system. Most of the people that the people I was with and I stash in the safe home are either innocent targets or key witnesses in immense cases, so it is important that the people I was with and I try to keep them as comfortable as possible while they are under our watch. After about a week, I finally had the safe home set up & ready to go in case the people I was with and I needed it at a moment’s notice. If nothing else, at least they will be nice & comfortable temperature-wise.
