When I bought my first house, I didn’t know much about home maintenance. I could barely change my own tire. During the first year, I learned how to change the plumbing fixtures, install carpet and fix a leaky faucet. It was a lot of work but I managed well. The internet has thousands of useful videos online. I found hundreds of DIY videos to help me with the minor repairs. When I had complications with the A/C, the internet suggested a few simple troubleshooting tips. I cleaned the debris from our outdoor compressor and I made sure the evaporator drain was clear. Still, nothing helped fix the A/C. My Mom and Dad told me to call a professional. The A/C repair company wanted 89.00 just to come to the house and evaluate the issue. That’s a great deal of money to spend for an evaluation but I was left with very little choices. I called the A/C repair company and scheduled the appointment. The next day, they came out to service my system. Surprisingly, they performed some of the same troubleshooting diagnostics. The A/C repair technician said that I needed a new kick switch. I didn’t have any idea what that was but it was part of the outdoor HVAC components. It took an hour to complete the A/C repair but it worked. By the time the HVAC technician left, the A/C was working again. I wouldn’t have been able to fix the issue so I’m glad that I decided to contact a professional.
