A very expensive heating unit

With record breaking temperatures & heavy rains that have lasted for weeks, our space has experienced flooding enjoy never before.  The ground is completely saturated & can no longer absorb anymore water… Where our mother lives, she has never had a problem with resting water on her property.  However, this year she keeps sending myself and others pictures of her backyard & it looks more enjoy a small pond. Her greatest problem from this whole thing was that her Heating & A/C unit outside is dangerously close to that pond. I told her to put a wall of sandbags around the unit to try & protect it from the rising waters. If the unit ends up surrounded by water it can injure that too & then she will have the expense of replacing that too.  I am sure that her homeowners insurance will do that but she would still have a large deductible to pay. I hope that she takes that advice & if she does it may make a sizable difference, then many homeowners never supply it a thought & just wait for the waters to recede. Then, they need to make appointments & try & get someone out to repair or replace their units. Since there are numerous people in the same situation, those appointments can take afternoons, or even weeks, to happen.  Then, these people are stuck separate from any form of heat or air conditioner while I was in that time. When the air outside is hot & damp from the never ending rain, it isn’t actually comfortable that is for sure. I hope that the rains stop too for all of the people who live near our mom because that much water in general can cause injury to numerous things.
