I need to either add more insulation or get a better furnace… The baseboards around my apartment entirely don’t have enough insulation in them! During the Winter, I can assume the cold air leak from them, my feet as well as legs get so cold, also, if I close any of the doors in the house, that room gets icy cold, however i love to have my home office door closed at evening. It freaks myself and others out to leave the door open, then having is closed seals in the cold air from the baseboards as well as shuts out my gas fireplace. I believe I might need to rip out all the baseboards as well as re-insulate them, or, I could get rid of my gas heating plan as well as get radiant floors. The flooring is what is cold anyway. Having a oil furnace right where the problem area is would solve everything. I could install radiant floors in my home office as well as close my door. The heated air would never rise to the ceiling as well as be wasted… Radiant floors have no cold spots as well as don’t even make noise. I believe I would love having electric radiant floors stretched all throughout the house. Removing as well as setting up a new oil furnace would be quite the expense though. Honestly, it would be cheaper as well as smarter to get more insulation. The task would truly stink. Removing baseboards as well as reinsulating is no fun, and but, after all of that was done, the heating plan in the apartment should job better. I would not be hot in my home office, but I would not be cold cold.
