My husband and I purchased our home in the early springtime. We weren’t quite ready to move in yet so our new home sat empty for quite a few months. We didn’t end up actually moving in until late October. Since the house sat for a while with no one in it, we knew there might be some issues that we would need to take care of right away. When it came to turning the heat on for the winter, our HVAC wasn’t working to our needs. We quickly noticed that the rooms weren’t being heated the same and that some rooms were colder than others. Our bedroom would get super warm at night, while the kids room would be freezing. I would get frustrated when I was hot and I could hear the heat running all through the night. We decided that we would need call a HVAC repairman in the morning to see what the cost will be. Since we had just purchased the home, we were really hoping that we wouldn’t need to replace the whole system. When the repairman came he said that there are some issues with the HVAC system but it could have been much worse. Apparently our HVAC system was pretty old and wasn’t big enough to heat all the rooms in our home. We discussed all the heating options for those rooms as well as the costs of each option. In the end he told us that it is extremely important to have the system maintenance every fall and spring. If we had waited any longer we could have seriously damaged the existing system.
