An empty residence

My job requires me travel 50 percent of the time. It’s nice to get out of the office and travel around the country. Most of the time, I’m sent to work on the west coast. The weather is a lot different from the weather in my home. When it’s hot,, it’s very important I choose hotels with great air conditioning. I’m sure a very sensitive sleeper, and cannot get comfortable with the heat. Two weeks ago I had a not so nice experience. My job booked me a hotel I’ve stayed at previously but this time my room didn’t have a properly working A/C. I arrived to my room to only discover HVAC unit refused to turn on. I immediately called the front desk and asked plainly could switch rooms but I was informed that the hotel was sold out. They told me they would likely call a HVAC technician, but they likely wouldn’t be here right until morning. Instantly was frustrated, it was in the 90s outside and intensely humid. What a disappointment! Rather than be upset, I decided to find another hotel. A hotel that had a working air conditioner. I arrived at the new hotel, got to my  new room and turned on the air conditioner. It was nice and cool. I was pleased. Sure enough I got a great night’s sleep and woke up the next morning rested and prepared to work. I wish hotels get their HVAC units inspected three times a year. Hotels will suffer if they don’t keep their customers happy and cool.
