The repair took me an hour

Some people don’t mind wasting an entire day to wait for a service call. I am an extremely busy person. I spend 12 hours a day at my job. When I get home, I’m tired, cranky, and ready to go to sleep. I don’t have any time to run errands or clean the place. I certainly don’t have time to waste. My time is valuable, and I don’t have spare time to wait all day for the repair person. When I schedule home repairs for the HVAC unit, plumbing fixtures, or electric box, I always ask for a specific time slot. Some companies try to give you a window of time, but I think that’s a waste of my day. Last time the HVAC company pulled that baloney, I spent all morning waiting for someone to repair the furnace. The HVAC company gave me a window of time from eight until noon. Around ten,I called for an arrival time. The company told me that a technician would be arriving shortly. The HVAC technician arrived at 11:55. The repair took an hour, and my whole day was completely wasted. The furnace needed to be repaired, but the company could have given me a prompt time. I didn’t take my suits to the dry cleaners. I didn’t shop for groceries at the local supermarket. I didn’t even get much yard work completed either, because the morning weather was foggy and full of rain. The next time I have to make a repair appointment for the house, I’m going to get a specific time slot.
