My mom always hosts everyone for the holidays. Whether it’s Christmas, Thanksgiving, or Easter, the festivities are going to be held at my mom’s place. She has a very large living room, with plenty of space for all of the friends and family. I always help my mom cook for the event, and provide all of the chairs and tables for sale. The last holiday was Thanksgiving, and we had a large group of friends and family. My mom made a turkey, and I made a large spiral ham. We made mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and six different types of vegetables. We had more pies than a bakery, and the aroma of fresh bread wafted in the air. As people started piling in for dinner, the the air got colder and colder. The cold draft was causing a chill in the whole place. My mom was running the Electric Furnace, but I decided to build a small fire in the wood furnace upstairs. The wood furnace is right next to the room where all of the festivities would occur. I piled some small logs, pieces of kindling, and a few Hardy pieces of wood into the furnace. I lit a long match and saw the fire start burning. It took a few minutes to get the wood burning well, but the furnace provide the extra warmth we needed. My family and I enjoyed spending time together, and all of the food was tasty and delicious. By the end of dinner, we were already to a nap in front of the wood furnace.
