As I sit here writing this post, it has been raining off and on for 13 straight days. I thought I had gotten away from this kind of nonsense when I left the Pacific Northwest, but I guess the dreary rain just followed me across the country. That means that aside from mandatory travel like going to work, I have been holed up in my place for the last 13 days as well. I don’t like getting wet, I don’t like catching a cold, and I absolutely hate the smell of rain on pavement, so thank you very much I will stay inside! Thankfully I have a top of the line HVAC system, which helps me out in a lot of different ways. First and foremost, it has a superior dehumidifier as a part of the system, which helps to pull a lot of the dampness out of my house. The indoor air quality here can get so moist and wet that it makes the walls feel cool and damp, which I simply cannot tolerate. Of course there is also the attendant matter of the temperature controls, which help to keep me warm and toasty despite the chill in the air. Honestly, I could probably live with the heater going down for a day or two, and just curl up under a blanket. But without that dehumidifier I would be gasping for breath, so I make sure to check it out every single day and make sure it keeps working for me. I love this dehumidifier, it makes my life better.
