If it were left up to me, all shared homes would have zone controlled Heating, Ventilation and A/C units. The Zone controlled Heating, Ventilation and A/C units are all certainly very good because they allow the cold as well as hot temperatures to be adjusted to odd settings in each individual room. They aren’t typically installed in most homes yet, however I guess that they will be at some point because of how amazingly convenient they are to use. Having one means that if there are multiple people living in a house, they can all keep their own private bedrooms as cool or as hot as they care to, separate from interfering with anyone else. I realized how good these were after I spent 2 years living with a hot blooded roommate who liked to keep the cooling system running on full blast almost all of the time. It was always too cold in the house, but no matter what I did, he completely refused to adjust the control component to a lower setting. I understand that people have some very odd preferences when it comes to the air conditioning system, but it was quite strenuous to live there some days. If the two of us had engaged a zone controlled Heating, Ventilation and A/C unit, the two of us would have been easily able to compromise on the living area while keeping our rooms at whatever temperature the two of us liked the best. Now I have my own studio apartment, but if I ever live with people again, I’ll be sure that there is a new zone controlled Heating, Ventilation and A/C system. I seriously guess that is the only way to totally eliminate all of the crazy fights that come along with living with people. I’ve had our fair share of bad roomies, as well as now I guess exactly how to get to the root of the problem– just upgrade the air conditioning system!
