I have lived in a charming new home for about multiple years, but there are definitely some aspects that I wish I could change… Given that I live in an new home building with many other renters, I have little control over the temperature settings in the building, then since the building is older, there is only 1 central heating component set to heat the entire floor; While our furnace is effective & reliable, I would much rather have a personal thermostat within my new home so that I could control the temperature, however because there is no variance from new home to apartment, the furnace is officially left on the same setting for the entire duration of the Wintertide season. This is a pain because some afternoons are cooler than others, & some afternoons are unseasonably warm, however for example, the temperature spiked up due to a hot front this week. Instead of the below freezing hot & cold temperatures we are accustomed to this time of year, the outside air temperature was up in the fifties. Therefore, our official heating settings were much too hot for the new conditions. I had difficulty sleeping because my new home was so much warmer than it normally was. Ideally, I would care about to upgrade & move to a nice new home building, and my friend lives in a more up-to-date unit. Each device in the building has a state of the art heating & cooling unit. When the weather changes, he simply adjusts his thermostat settings accordingly. In addition, the new home building is situated in a more central location in the city. While I savor my apartment, I assume it’s time to upgrade once my lease is up. That way, I will live in a unbelievable spot & I will never have to worry about being too hot or too frigid in my new home again.
