This summer, I told my brother that I would be around to babysit for his children if he needed any help. This escalated very quickly. I am a school teacher, so I have summers off. Therefore, I really am available whenever to hang out with the kids, but my brother took full advantage. Normally, I didn’t mind because I could just go over to his place. My brother’s house is super nice with an amazing state of the art air conditioning, a full stocked fridge, and an inground pool. It made it really easy to keep cool this summer, even if I was spending it trying to control three crazy kiddos. The only time it got difficult was when my brother asked me to take the kids on a day trip or out to do something. For example, their family had a membership to the local zoo. My brother wanted me to take the kids to the zoo every Friday morning. They had events for kids on fridays, and the kids loved it. It was pretty fun most of the time, however, some days the heat would be unbearable. There were so many people walking around in the middle of a hot summer, and I was running in every direction trying to keep everyone together. I was always hot and sticky by the end of it. Don’t even get me started about the indoor exhibits. The rooms were unbelievably hot, and they smelled terrible! I was always so grateful to get back to my brother’s house and jump directly in the pool. It became tradition that Friday morning was devoted to the zoo, and Friday afternoon was devoted to the pool. When we slipped inside to make lunch, the air conditioner was the best part. I am so glad my brother kept his house so cool.
