There’s a tree in the house

Sometimes life throws you obstacles that need to be overcome.  I never realized one of those obstacles was going to be a tree.  Well, to be honest, it was not the whole tree, but one of the limbs.  We didn’t know it fell until I woke up in the middle of the night. We knew it was to get windy, but the wind was gusting so badly that I could hear it whistling through the trees.  I felt like I could feel a draft, which I attributed to hearing the wind blow so hard. I got up to go to the bathroom and I realized there was a breeze blowing through the hallway. That was when I walked into the living room.  Sitting in my recliner, was a large tree limb. When the wind was blowing, it had broken the limb off and it had come in through the window. Most of it was still outside of the house, but we had enough broken glass for the wind to be gusting into the house.  I woke up my husband as I got a blanket to put over the window. I had to stop the snow from coming inside. Our furnace was going crazy trying to keep up with the thirty degree wind coming in. Our home was getting colder, and we had to figure what to do with the window.  We needed to have heating in the house. We needed to stop the furnace from running. We tacked plastic over the window after my husband cut out the tree limb and turned up the thermostat.
