My wife loves to joke with me, claiming I’m the only man on earth who experiences hot flashes. I don’t know what it is about me that causes it, either. Maybe it’s just the fact that I carry more weight all year long, or maybe it’s because I have a couple cups of coffee every day. Either way, I know that my body is not normal, as I can sweat in twenty-degree weather. It may be a joke to my wife during the day, but at night the jokes are over! I have such a hard time sleeping at night in a room with no A/C or air circulation. To cope with this, I usually sleep with a stand-up fan propped up and aimed right at my body as I sleep. What I’d really love though is a bed fan! A bed fan does just what you think it would – positioned at the end of your bed, the bed fan blows cool air directly under the sheets, keeping you cool enough to sleep with covers and blankets over you. My wife doesn’t see the appeal, but I definitely do! At this point, the only option for me is to either sleep with no blankets over me at all, or sleep in a different room that I can keep cooler. I’ve thought about this before, since zone control thermostats can be used to keep different rooms of the house at different temperatures. The zone control thermostat isn’t incredibly expensive either, so maybe it really should be considered as an option!
