I’m an air repair tech and once when I was on call, I had to drive our Heating, Ventilation, and A/C truck way out into the middle of the country to do this air conditioning estimate for a guy! When I got there, this guy came out on his porch with his rifle and several big spine-chilling looking cats, but i kid you not. I was more than just a little creeped out from the beginning, but I entirely wanted to get the commission from this air conditioning sale so I went on inside the new home to look around, the guy told me that his air conditioning is installed down underneath his house, along with the air duct. I thought that was out of the ordinary, due to the fact that there was no basement, however this was an outdated crappy new home in an old and ugly city, so stranger things have happened, I suppose, anyway, the guy pushes his couch out of the way and threw a rug back to reveal an actual trapdoor in the floor of his house. He said that the air conditioner was down there, through the trapdoor, now, at this point in time I’m entirely starting to wonder if this guy wanted myself and others there to check out his outdated broken down cooling system and sell him a new cooling unit, or if he was some creepy cannibal who was trying to trick me into his basement to save me for later or something. I entirely didn’t assume what to do at that point, but I told him I needed to run back out to the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C truck to get our flashlight and my headlamp. When I got to the truck, I threw it in reverse and left the place far behind me in the rearview mirror. I called the dispatch office at the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C business and told them that no money on planet earth is worth climbing down into that creepy hole!
