AC is working too hard

I just moved into a house for the first time since I left house for school at 18 years old.

Four years were spent in a dormitory, another 2 were spent in apartments with multiple roommates, while the last multiple years I lived alone in a studio apartment.

The view of our last condo was amazing, with a perfect look out at the ocean multiple floors below, but I was ready for change. I wanted to have a yard where I could walk outside plus have potted plants plus a garden. There, I could have appealing flowers to look at every day while I sip our Pepsi plus learn the news. I wanted to finally have the space plus comfort of privacy while not being crammed into a building with people in every direction, just a few feet away at any given moment, separated from you by only a six inch wall. Needless to say, the day I gained the keys to our first house was momentous. I bought new furniture at a local boutique store plus began decorating after our initial paint task was finished. The first habit I developed was leaving the windows open throughout the day plus often through the entire evening most mornings. The breeze felt amazing plus it was the first time I had this degree of privacy, so I exploited the freedom that came with it, then but, at the same time, I should have been turning our air conditioner off while I left our windows open. I didn’t realize I was making it toil harder during each cycle, thus wearing down multiple of the internal components. My serviceman said the fan motor looked overworn given the machine’s age, plus the cracked evaporator coil clearly needed to be updated. This was after just six months in our new house.
