My husband and I bought a house years and years ago, and we honestly had no idea what we were doing.
We were young, and we did not have a lot of money. We looked at the house that we are in now, and we immediately fell in love with it. We knew that it was an older house, but it had been remodeled. Almost every room in the entire house had been updated, and it looked nice. We did not realize, however, that the remodeling was not done right. The longer we live here, the more we see all of the mistakes that the previous owners made while remodeling the house themselves. We wish we would not have bought the house in the first place, but it is too late now. We have tried to fix some of the issues, but there are just too many to fix. The upstairs bathroom in our house gets so stuffy and humid. It never seems to dry completely, so mold grows in there. I have to bleach it at least four times a year. It is so humid that the border on the walls comes off all of the time, and I have to glue that back down a few times per year as well. There is a fan in the bathroom, but it just does not seem to do much. My husband thinks that it was probably put in wrong, and he plans to fix it soon. I decided to buy a dehumidifier to see if it would help get rid of some of the extra humidity in there. Surprisingly, it has actually helped quite a bit.
