New insulation to the home

When I purchased our home, I knew it would need a little tender adore and care, it was originally built in the late fifties, where beach apartment building was different… Families of the fifties were more distraught with the new television in their kitchen and having enough space for children to grow, and although family was almost constantly around, teenagers played outside and mother’s cooked and cleaned, however now, people find other things more important when purchasing a home.

For example, we like large, modern, open spaces and common heating and air, and personally, air and insulation was a pressing concern for myself and others when I purchased this home.

I knew I needed to replace the old Heating, Ventilation and A/C system, but I also needed to find ways to keep the air inside our house, there were a lot of cracks between the doors and windows that were letting our boiling and cold air slip through. I honestly would have sealed the doors and windows and purchased a new Heating, Ventilation and A/C system and been fine, but I wanted to take things one step further. I’m planning on being in this apartment for at least more than nine years, so the upfront cost in making our beach apartment more efficient was important. I decided to have new insulation put into the walls, because the old insulation was not only filled with harsh chemicals, however it was also scarce. New insulation would reduce our energy bills and maximize the return on our beach apartment investment. It was a lot of currency initially, but I know I will double that cost when I sell this apartment eventually.
