I really don’t like living in the North

I can’t believe my family made us move.

  • Our parents decided in the middle of the summer that they wanted us to pack up our home in the South and move far up North.

They claimed that we were constantly having to worry about hurricanes and other natural disasters, and those wouldn’t be a problem in the North. Because of this, I had to lose all of my friends and family that I had grown up with. I had to move away from the school that I had finally grown comfortable in. And I had to move into a different house that didn’t feel like home. The worst part about moving was the temperatures and weather in the North. During the summer, it wasn’t as bad as the temperatures. I was already used to the humidity of the North, but the temperatures were a lot cooler than the South. We still needed an air conditioner, but if a friend didn’t have one, it really wasn’t a big deal. However, when it was time to put the air conditioner away, I realized why i would hate the North. I cannot stand the colder temperatures up here. As soon as fall arrives, you guys have to turn on your furnaces and leave them on for what seems like an eternity. Without the furnace, your house will literally begin to destroy itself. The temperatures outside are way harsher than the South. We literally live in a place where the wind hurts our face because of the cold air. I wish I were back in the South.
