It’s not like Halloween is a night you can keep the windows and doors sealed up tight for the climate control
Halloween is easily my favorite time of year, no question about it. I would not think twice about canceling Christmas, Thanksgiving, and all my remaining birthdays before getting rid of the joys of Halloween. Of course, I treat the entire month of October as if it were the holiday. Why not maximize my enjoyment, and celebrate the feast of all hallows for as long as possible? If I could start in September, I would. And who knows, one day I might do just that. It is always best when the weather turns when it is supposed to, but lord knows I have had to run my AC on more than one Halloween night. As a kid, I remember having to bundle up heavily to go trick or treating, but it’s more common now to run the HVAC system the entire night. Makes no difference, I suppose, because if I need to run the AC then I will, and I won’t let it get in the way of a great Halloween. I just have to get out of the mindset of watching over the thermostat, and be OK with it running and running all night long. It’s not like Halloween is a night you can keep the windows and doors sealed up tight for the climate control. There are constantly kids ringing the doorbell, going in and out, handing out candy, so there is no way to keep the AC trapped inside. One night can’t be that expensive, so I’ll turn the thermostat all the way down and let it run as much as it needs to.
