You don’t know what you have until it’s gone. Am I right? Isn’t that exactly how it works when you get out of a long-term relationship, moved to a new city, or embark on a new career choice? All of a sudden, thanks to the contrast between have and have nots, you have a brand new perspective on your prior quality of life. This could be good or bad. Maybe you thought you had a really great relationship until you are single again and realize how exhausting and stressful your toxic relationship truly was. Maybe you thought you had a pretty good job and good working relationship with your boss, but you’re blown away by the amount of freedom and respect that you’re giving in a new position. Or, maybe you were always perfectly happy with the quality of your central heating, cooling, and ventilation plan until you experience the luxury of someone else’s indoor HVAC system and suddenly you despise the indoor air handling devices at your own house. Well, if you hadn’t guessed, this most recent scenario is exactly what happened to me a few weeks ago. I was always perfectly content with my central heating system even though it was rather energy-inefficient and created uneven hot and cold temperatures throughout the house. However, after staying at my rich uncle’s house, I can’t stop thinking about replacing my heating system with radiant heated floors. He had the most wonderful, even, and healthy indoor heating system for us to use all week long. In comparison, I absolutely abhor my current heating plan and I can’t stop thinking about how much better life would be if I made better HVAC decisions.
