Air duct issues are part of new HVAC upgrade

A moment that has been coming at us for a long time has now arrived. Luckily, we were able to prepare for our situation because of the outstanding service we receive from our HVAC company. Almost 2 years ago, our trusted HVAC technician told me to start making preparations to replace our HVAC unit. The heating and cooling system was nearing the two decade mark and it was beginning it’s downward performance cycle. The utility bills have been steadily climbing due to the old HVAC not being able to keep up with demand quite like it once did. Fortunately, we live in an area where the HVAC heat pump is more than enough to meet our needs. The winters are mild and the heat pump is more than adequate to heat our home during the colder months of the year. However, the heat pump really shines when it comes to the hot weather. I am super excited about our new arrival. The new heat pump we purchased has a very high SEER rating. The higher the SEER rating, the better the efficiency of the heat pump. I imagine that we are going to be very pleased when we see our utility bill in the summer. However, not everything went as I thought it would. The air ducts in our house are as old as the house. There were several sections which had to be replace to comply with our new HVAC system. However, we were lucky to have had the time to prepare and this expense was one we were able to plan for as well. With the addition of the new ducts and the resealing of the rest, we are going to only add to the great efficiency of our new heating and cooling unit.
