Since I was raised by my grandma and grandpa I have always had a special place in my heart for the elderly. My mother and father weren’t really in the picture for me during any point of my life and despite this I never felt like I was missing out on anything all thanks to my grandparents. In my experience the older generations have always shown a high amount of respect and kindness than the younger generations in general, so a few weeks ago when my town was put under quarantine I was hoping to help the older population out. While this quarantine has left many people unprepared and needing a wide variety of things one of the most time sensitive problems has been getting their HVAC units serviced. This is what my boss at my HVAC company told me, so I decided to figure out exactly how I could help without putting any of these elderly people around town in danger. With the help of some protective gear and face masks I have been able to work on repairing and replacing at least a dozen hVAC units in some of the elderly residents’ homes in town and already have many more scheduled to help. I have not been getting paid for this job but that wasn’t exactly what I cared about. What I did care about was finding a way to help out the same type of people who helped me when I was a kid and I am happy and proud to say that I have been able to do just that.
