Being in the depths of deep Summer heat is not my most number one time of year.
The heat seems to effect nearly everything that I want to do.
Of course, there is no getting through this heating phase without access to reliable Heating and A/C cooling. It simply can’t be done, at least not in our area. I can recall going to see my Grandparents, who lived only miles from where the two of us are now, when I was younger plus they had no modern Heating and A/C. They used something called a swamp cooler to help with the heat. This is entirely an evaporative cooling system used in many parts of the world. I recall that while it wasn’t anything like a modern Heating and A/C system, it did help cool their house. There absolutely wasn’t a lot of interest during the heat of the afternoon. And, my Grandma did all the cooking outside so he wasn’t heating up the condo even more. My Grandparents were able to maximize the effects of the swamp cooler through the use of fans. It was this thought that got myself and others to thinking of how I could reduce the energy being used by the Heating and A/C during the summer. I’m going to wait until it cools off before attempting any big projects like installing automatic sunshine shades. So, I chose to go right to the source plus focus on the Heating and A/C temperature control settings. The temperature setting is going to be far more commensurate with the outside un-even temperatures. I will also buy a few more fans that the two of us can transport around to where the two of us are in the house.
