I need an air conditioner in my basement

When I bought my first house, many of my friends and family thought I’d lost my mind. From the outside, my house looks fairly small, with thin patches of grass surrounding each side. The house itself is actually very old – almost a century old, now! Much of the house uses vintage appliances, such as the wood stove for heat. However, the reason I picked this house is because of the basement. The previous owners decided to thoroughly renovate the basement, making it a modern escape from the old-fashioned feel of the first level. The basement had excellent acoustics, making it fantastic as a practice space for music, and there was an entertainment center with plenty of electrical and cable hook-ups. When I went to first tour the house, the previous homeowners were in the process of installing a mini-split heating and air conditioning system for the basement. They’d sought to have the system fully installed before anyone would buy the house, as it would certainly increase the desirability of the home. I’m glad they did it! My first week in the new place was fantastic, because I had this perfectly enclosed, excellently air conditioned space to retreat to – all right under my neighbor’s noses. It was like having a secret bunker, camouflaged by the chipped paint and screen door of the house. My friends were quick to change their tune when I brought them in for a tour of my new abode, as they’ve wanted to hang out in my basement every weekend since I bought the house! I’m genuinely glad the previous homeowners bought that ductless system for the basement. No ducts to clean, no giant bulky equipment – just a simple, convenient system to keep my secret bunker nice and comfortable.
