I’m feeling trepidation moving up north.

I grew up in a wealthy town in a tropical area and that is the only lifestyle I know.

When my husband got a promotion at work that gave us an opportunity to move to a northern climate, it is with trepidation that I considered it.

I know it gets awfully cold up north. I visited a relative in the north one winter and she had a gas furnace and gas scares me. I’m terrified of gas leaks and explosions. Where I live, people heat and cool their homes with self contained central a/c with a heating coil installed or some other fancy a/c system. Some people in my hometown have an awesome a/c but use space heaters. In my hometown, we rarely get weather below fifty degrees and some winters we don’t need the heat at all. Spring and fall weather only last a few weeks so we basically use our a/c all year long. If we move north, we have to worry about furnaces and heat. My husband assures me that not all furnaces are gas. Obviously, I have a lot to learn about heating a home, and about different types of whole house air purification systems. I’m sure they are available no matter what kind of HVAC system you use. Like I said, I have a lot to learn and a lot of research to do. I don’t trust any old HVAC technician to explain everything to me. I must admit though, having spring and fall weather that lasts more than a couple of weeks sounds awesome. I think we will take this job opportunity and move north. I’ll just make it a point to avoid gas furnaces.
