I remember going into the bank, the post office, and the grocery store with my mom when I was a kid and they all had air conditioning
Back when I was a kid, there wasn’t air conditioning in very many places. I mean, a lot of wealthier people had air conditioning in their homes back then, but people who were more middle class, like my family, didn’t have air conditioning too often. We didn’t have central air conditioning installed in the house that I lived in with my mom and dad until I was almost a teenager. Before that, we had to rely on what my dad called nature’s air conditioning. He just meant that we had to put fans in the windows and let the cool night air come through the house. This worked pretty well for us at night, but it didn’t do a thing for us in the daytime when the temperature was extra hot outside. Anyway, most of the places that we went in town had A/C that they kept turned on during the summertime. I remember going into the bank, the post office, and the grocery store with my mom when I was a kid and they all had air conditioning. I always wished that we had it at home too, but it was more expensive back then to get central A/C installed. I’m really glad that these days, almost everyone is able to have air conditioning in their home. It’s especially good news for me, since I’m hot pretty much all the time these days! I think that one of my medications is what’s doing it, but either way, I like to find A/C wherever I happen to go!
