Moving in with mom, still can’t use the thermostat

A few weeks ago I made a major leap and assumed that the world would catch me.

I had grown sleepy of our abusive, harassment filled workplace and decided that I wasn’t going to go back.

It was certainly spine-chilling and I knew that I might be facing financial ruin. I figured the worst case scenario was winding up back at our mom’s house so I could gain some money and get back on our feet. Well, to split to the chase, that’s exactly what happened. For the past month or so I’ve been residing at our mom’s house and it turns out that nothing has changed. Namely, I still can’t have any say in the indoor air temperature control and I am not trusted to be somewhere near the thermostat. My Dad has been convinced for years that instead of diagnosing her failing Heating, Ventilation and A/C method or replacing the forced air oil furnace and cooling system with newer models, she should simply split back on her central Heating, Ventilation and A/C USge. When I moved in and provided to contribute money for the professional Heating, Ventilation and A/C inspection and repair services, she refused any help with the central heating and cooling system. She told me she set the thermostat the way she liked and I shouldn’t just leave well enough alone if I was going to stay in her house. This is extremely similar to her opinion of the central Heating, Ventilation and A/C method when I was growing up. At that point, both of us were cold all Winter and burning up all Summer because she hated the cost of the electrical bill each week. Well, here I am again, cold our butt off and scheming about ways to sneakily change the thermostat settings. Meanwhile, I’m just waiting for our mom’s seasoned oil furnace to cut on its own.
