Just a couple of months ago, I was thrilled when we finally got to move into a different building. We were no longer sharing office space with other people, but we had our own office building. It was an old brownstone, that had a few windows in each office. There was heating and air conditioning in every office, and everyone had their own thermostat. We all felt like we had been handed a million dollars, it was so great to finally get out of that old shared building. We had been in a three story building that had a shared thermostat. For adult professionals, they acted more like children, because they were always fighting over the control of the thermostat. We were on the top floor, there were wall to wall windows, and the heat from the sun made the offices broiling hot. It didn’t matter if it was summer or winter, the top floor was always hot. We would try to adjust the thermostat to get some air conditioning up there, and all that would happen would be that we would make the other two floors too cold. In the winter, we would turn the heat down, and once again, the other too floors would be too cold. There was no happy medium when it came to the heating and air conditioning in that building. That’s why we are so happy to be in the new building. We have one floor and Zone Control, so what more could you ask when it comes to comfort in an office.
